Motor-mouthed Tamale Mirundi has turned the guns towards the so-called state mafias after claiming the recent tragedy in which many party goers perished on Lake victoria is the work of the “Mafia”.
Tamale, who has never been shy to make his feelings and opinions known made the shocking claim during his weekly ‘one on one’ show on NBS TV which airs every Tuesday.
He said that the ‘mafia’ is everywhere in the Ugandan economy. He said that just as jealous school owners (read mafia) set their competitors’ schools ablaze to tarnish their reputation, the transport industry also has mafias that can mastermind a tragedy like one the country witnessed on Lake Victoria waters on Saturday.
Below is what Tamale Mirundi said;
“We all know that all these mushrooming schools operating under heavy competition in a poor society like Uganda where few parents can pay huge sums of school fees are owned by the mafia who always time when students are graduating from P7 and S4 to look for new schools, and the shrewd mafia hires in the terrorists to burn and destroy the schools of his fellow competitors in the education business.
This same mafia is also in the water transportation business and will do anything to crush all the boats of fellow competitors who have no mafia power and protection.
The greed of the Ugandan mafia has now advanced to the stages of the greed of the street pussycats called “emiyayu” who still every milk and meat in our homes.
The time is coming when the mafia’s evil game will swallow the mafia himself.
At one time, a hunter’s dog caught an antelope, when the hunters began sharing the meat, the brave dog Sat humbly in silence waiting for it’s share of the meat which were always the hooves, head or intestines, but this time the hunters were greedy , they took the remaining head, then the intestines and finally the dog jumped on the hunter who was taking the only remaining piece of meat which were antelope hooves and after biting the greedy hunter, the dog escaped with the hooves. A time is coming when the mob will jump on these greedy mafias looting everything”
It remains to be seen how stakeholders in the transport industry will react to Mr. Mirundi’s latest claim. We shall keep you posted.
