Bobi Wine has had an extra zeal and anointing bestowed upon him by the Catholic priest for Kitanga Parish Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda, the Parish priest for Kitanga in Rukiga district.
Father Gaetano who also doubles as the Kick Corruption Out of Uganda chief in the region anointed Bobi Wine during a meeting between the two this week.
Batanyenda said that as a young leader, Bobi Wine needs God’s guidance to keep on track and to be fearless freedom in volatile Uganda.
Father Batanyenda assured Bobi that God does not segregate his people.
“Bobi Wine is God sent so he must be led and guided by God’s word if he is to lead his people to the promised land which is the Uganda we want,” said Fr. Gaetano.
Today morning Bobi Wine via his official Facebook page, posted appreciating Fr. Gaetano for the work he is doing for his country.
“Yesterday, I felt very lucky to receive words of wisdom, and a blessing from a very respected senior citizen of our country, Rev. Father Gaetano Batanyenda. At 75 years of age, Father Gaetano has devoted his life to shepherding the people of God, but also working for justice, fairness and equity. He has always spoken out against injustice, corruption, and bad governance.
He implored me and other comrades never to rely on our own understanding in our struggle for a better Uganda but to always trust God, for it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 that, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
He also asked me to always practice the words in Proverbs 31:8-9 and leave the rest to God. These words are- “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” His gift to me was a Bible, for which I am very grateful”.
