The opposition Forum For Democratic Change- FDC has disregarded the impact of an opinion poll which declares Bobi Wine, a singer turned politician, the most influencer opposition figure ahead of their own Dr. Kizza Besigye in the run up to the 2021 polls.
Bobi Wine, who recently revealed plans to stand against incumbent President Yoweri Museveni of the NRM is, according to the poll results slightly behind the veteran leader, with the FDC top honcho Besigye a distant third.
The poll results are based on research carried out by Research World International. The research added that based on the findings, Bobi Wine would be a better candidate for the opposition should they think of fronting only one candidate.
However, the FDC publicist Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda disagrees with the poll, saying the FDC has always emerged with a bigger percentage compared to what the research agency has been giving them during opinion polls, giving an example of the 2016 elections.
He, however, says they will, as a party use the poll results to evaluate themselves and see how best they can grow their support ahead of the 2021 squeaky bum time.
