Police in the Kampala Metropolitan Area have confirmed the arrest of the key suspect in the murder of a bodaboda rider who was captured on camera being slain in Rubaga.
The gruesome murder was captured by a nearby CCTV camera that showed the faces of the killers as they strangled the helpless motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist was later identified as Derrick Mulindwa a resident of Nabweru Bandana and the fateful incident occurred on 30th June 2019.
The arrested suspect who has been identified as Mugisha Bosco alias Mukiga has confessed that he is the one in the video footage alongside his colleague that he only identified as Young Mulo who was coincidentally clobbered by a mob a while ago after reportedly stealing a motorcycle.
Mukiga revealed that the two had stolen a motorcycle from Mityana but we’re tracked up to Makindye from where his colleague was killed by an angry mob. He however managed to escape and came back to Kabale, his home area.
Kampala Metropolitan area police spokesperson Patrick Onyango revealed that the suspect is being held at Katwe police station and will charged with murder and aggravated robbery.
